Willis Jackson was a child prodigy. His parents noticed that his chalk drawings were better than other children’s when he was two years old. At age three, he was using perspective in his pictures. At six years old, he sold his first painting for $100. It was called “Basketball Hero.” It was a painting of his older brother crying because he broke his leg.

At age eight, Willis told his father that he didn’t want to paint on canvases anymore. His father was a carpenter, so he built a series of wooden boards for Willis to paint on. Each board had a round “window” cut into it, so you could see the board behind it. Willis painted different scenarios on each board. The newspapers called it three-dimensional painting.

Today Willis is a very famous artist. He lives in Denmark. His latest project combines painting and performance art. He actually uses his paintbrushes on people while they are walking around an art gallery!
