If you haven’t been living under a rock, you have probably noticed the changes in jobs in recent years. We are seeing different jobs that were all unheard of a decade ago. Here are five examples of jobs we didn’t have ten years ago…

1. App Developer: Remember a time before apps? When software on your phone was clunky and all your phone could do was to take a grainy photo, and play snake? (1).......... Mobile apps are now an essential part of our lives and smartphone users are downloading them. Google Play has the most amount of apps with 2.8 million while the Apple App Store follows with 2.2 million.

2. Uber Driver: Uber was founded in 2009, but is already the world’s most valuable start-up company. Simply open the app, insert your location and destination, and a driver will come and pick you up. (2)...........

3. Drone Operator: Drone operator is now a popular job. Some colleges in America even have entire courses for it. The pay is very good, too. (3)...........

4. Vlogger: A decade ago could you think that you’d be able to make money through your YouTube channel? (4)........... Vlogging is now a successful career. YouTubers are receiving lots of money through advertising, social media and sponsorship deals. And with us spending a billion hours a day on the video-sharing site, it’s no wonder that it is such a profitable job.

5. Social Media Manager: In 2007, Facebook and Twitter were still in their infancy. Nobody had iPhones. (5)........... . Now, almost three-quarters of adults are on social media. This brought with it jobs like social media managers. Most brands are now hiring a social media manager to create strategies and manage their social media channels.
