A Book Review : Infinity by Jus Accardo

Kori, the daughter of an army general, does not resent her father for his distance. After the death of her mother, they struggle to get on with each other. For Kori’s father, his outlet is his job. Kori’s outlet is her art, which is often found spray painted on city property. After being caught in the act of creating a mural in a park, Kori’s father assigns two of his soldiers to watch Kori while he is away on a business trip.

It is soon apparent that these boys are not like the other soldiers under her father’s command. Cade and Noah both seem to have odd reactions to Kori. Cade cannot keep his eyes off of her and Noah seems to absolutely hate Kori. But when a creepy stranger threatens Kori, both boys reveal they are not who they seem. Now, Kori is thrown into a world she never knew existed. With time running out, she must find a way to save both herself and the people she loves.

It is hard to not like Kori; she is an honest character who, although reckless, cares greatly about those closest to her. Cade and Noah on the other hand, are difficult to like in the beginning. To the reader, it seems like the relationships in the novel are moving incredibly fast. However, as the plot progresses the reader discovers there is a reason the characters seem to instantly connect.

The plot of the novel revolves around technology that allows characters to travel between dimensions. While Infinity is not the first novel to approach inter-dimensional travel, Jus Accardo manages to put unique touches to the story. The relationship between Kori and her father is heart-warming. Overall, Infinity is a worthwhile read with likeable characters and an interesting plot.
