A Cousin's Trip

A Cousin's Trip

Chao: Hey, Bao Shi. Are you there? What time is it in Beijing now?

Bao Shi: Yes, I am. It’s almost midnight. How are you? What time is it in San Diego?

Chao: It’s eight o’clock in the morning here. I’m really excited that you are coming next month. It’s going to be a great summer holiday for both of us.

Bao Shi: Me too! What things can we do this summer?

Chao: There is a lot to see in San Diego. First, I want to take you to the zoo here. You can see interesting animals and feed some of them, like rhinos.

Bao Shi: Wow!

Chao: Next, I’ll take you to Balboa Park. We can ride bikes around the park and visit some of the museums there. Also, your mum said she wants you to learn some history on your trip. My mum thought you would like Old Town.

Bao Shi: What’s Old Town?

Chao: It looks like an old western town. Many people came to California during the Gold Rush to find gold. In fact, my great-great-grandfather came here then.

Bao Shi: That sounds interesting. Can we also see the beaches? I want to learn surfing.

Chao: No problem! The beaches close to our home are my favourite part of San Diego.
