A Different Market

Where do you go when you need to buy carrots or tomatoes? You go to a supermarket or to a green grocer’s, right? In Thailand, there is a different place where you can go to buy fruits or vegetables. It is called the “Floating Market”. This market is on a river, so you need to go there on a boat. In this market, you can buy some clothes and accessories too. This is a very touristic place that many people visit every year.

Last year, my cousin went there and he showed me some pictures of the market. It looks very colourful and fun. In this market there is not only shopping. You can see some monkeys and snakes, too. He also brought us one of the traditional fruits of Thailand. It is called the dragon fruit because the shape of the fruit looks like a dragon, but I liked the taste of it. My cousin also brought a necklace for me. It is a handmade necklace from that market and I love wearing it.

I really loved that market. If I go to Thailand one day, I will visit that market and do some shopping there.
