A Different Night

George lives in a house with his family. They are very poor, so they don’t have enough furniture at home. They have a small farm. George’s father sells porridge. George sleeps upstairs and always hears his dad snoring. One day, something strange happens. George can’t hear his dad snoring. He is worried. He goes to his parents’ room, but his father isn’t there. He goes out and sees his dad working on the farm at midnight. He feels so sad about his father, so he goes and helps him. They work together for hours. “It is a different night, Dad,” says George.
