A Helping Hand from the Mother

A Helping Hand from the Mother

Grace was a 10-year-old girl who liked playing with her dog outside. That day, she wanted to go out with her dog, Oscar, but it was rainy in the morning. Grace had to wait until it stopped. After it stopped, it was foggy, but later in the afternoon, it cleared. There was a bright rainbow in the sky. Grace was looking out of the window. When she saw it, she got excited and quickly changed her clothes, so she could go out in a hurry. She told her mom, “I am going to the forest with Oscar.” Her mom said, “Ok, but be careful!”. She took her ball from the garage, and went out with Oscar. He was so happy to be out with Grace. He was walking, jumping and running. He loved catching the ball when Grace threw it. They got tired, and decided to sit under a tree by the lake. Oscar saw something in the lake. When he tried to catch it, he fell into the lake. Grace screamed, “Oscar! Help! Help!”. She wanted to help him, but she didn’t know what to do. Oscar was trying to get out of the water, but he couldn’t. Suddenly, Grace felt a hand on her shoulder. She turned back, and saw her mother. After Grace and Oscar left, her mother wanted to bring Grace some cake. She heard Grace’s scream, and she ran towards them. Her mom jumped into the lake and grabbed Oscar.
