A HERO TO PROTECT ANIMALS

A HERO TO PROTECT ANIMALS

Lily is an eleven-year old girl. She loves all kinds of animals! She watches documentaries and reads books about them. Her father is a veterinarian, so she goes to her father’s office and helps him at the weekends. She looks after the ill animals, feeds them and cleans them. Lily has a dog, two cats, two canaries and three fish at home. She is responsible for taking care of her pets and she does her job really well.

Lily is upset about all the endangered animals these days. She reads websites about them and she wants to do something to help them. She is planning a campaign with her friends. They make posters to warn people in their town about the problem and suggest some ways to help. They draw pictures of pandas, tigers and whales. They write articles in the school newspaper. They have a blog where they share photos and ideas to save endangered animals.

Lily says: ‘I love animals. They are a very important part of my life. My pets are my best friends, but they are not the only animals I care about. I am worried about endangered animal species and I want to do something for them. Our science teacher, Mr. Grey, helps me a lot with the campaign. He suggests websites and books to read so we learn more and more each day about what we can do to save the animals. It’s hard work, I must admit, but it makes me feel happy. I hope everyone feels responsible just like we do. We share the Earth with animals. We have the right to live and so do they. I will take part in a TV programme called “Help Nature” on Friday evening. I will talk about our campaign there. We should all be heroes to save the Earth and the animals living on it’.
