A HOLIDAY IN GREECE

My parents and I are going on a holiday to Greece next week. My father has already arranged all the reservations at the hotels that we are going to stay at in five different regions. Before the flight, I have done some research about Greece. It is an exotic country where the East and the West culture is blended. Today, all Greek people are proud of their culture with their history, music, language and traditions. From the depths of history to the present day, culture in Greece is like an endless torch-relay race across the centuries, from generation to generation. Greek culture was and is a culture of the sea and the two sides of the Aegean at the same time.

Language is one of the most important things in Greek culture. Modern Greek language is connected to ancient Greek, or Hellenic, and its music. The Eastern and Western cultural influences on the music often catch people’s attention. Besides having a rich history, Greece is one of the most spectacular countries with its natural beauties. It has become the most preferred country to visit because of these characteristics.

We are going to visit five different regions starting from Thessaloniki. Our priority is to visit the house of Atatürk there. Then we are heading to Athens, Piraeus, and Corfu Island after staying in Thessaloniki for a couple of days.

Most of the traditions and festivals are still followed today and we are hoping to come across one of them on our vacation.
