A HOUSE OF MY OWN
Gina Richardson was born in a small town called Reading in England. She was the fourth child in her family and they weren’t rich. She moved to London in 2012. When she was in Reading, she had a dream. She wanted to have her own house – not an apartment. She wanted a house with a nice garden. When she moved to London, her dream moved with her. Gina needed money to buy a house, but she didn’t have any. She didn’t even have a job. She decided to make a plan and follow it to her dream. She worked really hard. She never finished school in Reading so she studied for the final exams in the UK. She passed them! Then she needed to find a job. She found two jobs! During the week she worked as a teacher assistant at a primary school and at weekends she worked as a maid at a very famous doctor’s house. Every month, she saved some money. She was very careful not to spend too much money. She would have her breakfast and lunch at school. She would take some extra food from lunch and eat that for dinner. Sometimes she found eating the same food twice very boring but she never complained . She would only go to the cinema on Sunday nights because tickets were the cheapest then. Finally in 2015, Gina saved enough money to buy a house. It wasn’t very big but she loved it. It was just perfect for her. Today Gina still works at a school during weekdays, but she doesn’t work at weekends. She says, ‘I just want to enjoy my house now. I don’t even go out at the weekend. When I remember the old days, I feel glad that I worked that much. I didn’t even have time for my friends but it was worth it. Now I invite my friends to my wonderful house so that we can spend time together.’
