A Letter to Pam

Hi, Pam! I am Jonathan. I am from Zermatt, Switzerland. Maybe you know Zermatt. It is a very famous place for skiing. Many people here know how to ski very well. I know it well too, so my favourite sport is skiing. There are many reasons for me to do this sport. Firstly, it is so much fun. Secondly, the weather here is not suitable for any other sports. Skiing is the best sport to do here. Thirdly, all the members of my family can ski, so it is a good family activity for us.

To do this sport, you need some special clothes to protect your body from cold weather. Then, you can ski comfortably. Also, you need skiing equipment. The clothing, boots, and skis cost a lot of money, but you can also rent them from the ski areas.

I always go skiing at the weekends with my family, but this week I am on holiday and my cousins came from London to visit us. Now, I am skiing with them and teaching my little cousin how to ski. He thinks it is so much fun. If you want to learn this sport, it is not hard. Anybody can try it.
