A NEW PLACE TO LIVE
Ken is a doctor. He decided to work in a bigger hospital. So, he moved to New York. He wanted to learn more about the place, so he decided see the city. He bought a city map. Early in the morning he walked to a café. He had breakfast, then he went to a store to buy some water. He started to walk. In his map, there was a symbol “P” in a circle. He walked there. It was a park. Then he wanted to see the square. He asked someone “Excuse me. How do you get to the square?”. The man said “Turn right at the crossroads, then turn right at the traffic lights. The square is at the end of the road.” Ken turned right. He walked to the traffic lights. He turned right and went straight. He saw the square. It was big and colourful. He took photos of the square. Then he wanted to see the most famous museum there. It was Metropolitan Museum of Art. He looked at his map. The distance between the square and the museum was about 2 kilometres. It was in the east of the city. He asked a woman “How do you get to the Metropolitan Museum?” The woman said “You can take a bus or you can just walk. It takes 20 minutes to walk. Go straight ahead. Turn left at the corner of the square. Then turn right and walk for one kilometre. You will see the big building on the left.” Ken decided to walk. He walked and turned left. Then he turned right. The streets were very crowded. It was difficult to walk. When he saw the museum, he was happy. It was a great building. He went inside. He looked at the art and really liked it. Then he went back home. It was a great day out.
