A NICE SUNDAY AFTERNOON

It is a beautiful Sunday afternoon and a woman is sitting in the park by the pond. She is watching the ducklings swimming after the mummy duck. She is sitting in the shade, but most people are sitting in the sun. They are wearing short-sleeved shirts and trying to get a suntan. She thinks that the sun is bad for the skin.

A young man is reading magazines under a big, old tree while his girlfriend is playing Frisbee with her dog. Many people treat their pets like a member of the family. They even buy toys for them. Some young guys are listening to loud rap music and disturbing other people.

There are a few elderly people around and they seem to be in very good health. An elderly men is jogging while a young girl is sitting with a towel in her hand. The woman thinks it’s his daughter. She’s pleased to see young people spending time with their parents. Then she thinks how much she misses her son and her grandchildren. They live in a different country and she sees them only twice a year. In fact, her son calls her every day but having loved ones nearby is something different.
