A PERFECT DOLL

Do you like horror stories? Do you believe in ghosts? Or have you ever seen a haunted doll, like this little girl, Amy? Amy was a girl who loved playing with dolls. Her family was not a wealthy one but they tried to buy the toys that she wanted. One day she saw a perfect doll at the window of the doll shop which was next to her house. It was like a princess from a fairy tale with a perfect white gown. The eyes of the doll were frozen blue, and it had a hat with laces. It had golden hair like the Sun. She said, ‘This is the doll of my dreams. I want to have it.’ She told her mum that she wanted that doll. However, her mum checked for the price and said, ‘Honey, this is too expensive for us. I think you have to wait for a while.’ Her mum thought that she would forget about the doll sooner or later. But Amy didn’t forget about it. She started to check the doll every day. Every day at the same hour, she walked on the pavement and stared at the doll. One day the owner of the shop invited her in. She was a bit scared because her mother didn’t know that she was out of the house. But this feeling, staring at this doll, was pulling her like a magnet. Amy told the lady in the shop that she loved the doll, but she didn’t have enough money. The owner understood the situation. She called her mum because she knew her. While they were talking on the phone she saw that the doll winked at her. She was surprised, but she thought that it was just a daydream. The owner said, ‘The doll has been there for 3 years. Nobody has bought it yet, but you can have it.’ Her inner voice said, ‘Amy, you had it!’ She was screaming. Her dream had finally come true. She grabbed the doll and started to run. She entered to the house and started to play with it. While playing she realised that the doll was smiling at her. She was shocked because a doll can’t smile. Suddenly the doll opened her eyes and woke up. Oh dear! She had fallen asleep! And the doll was next to her. It was just a dream.
