A scary experience

A scary experience

Jennifer tells us about how this experience went for her;

I remember the first time I gave a presentation in class, it was one of the scariest things I have ever done. It took me forever to think about what I wanted to talk about. Then I remembered that last summer I swam with dolphins in a small lake. It was one of the most fantastic experiences of my life. I can still feel the excitement as I think about it now. Do you know, scientists say that dolphins can tell if a woman is having a baby because of the ultra-sonic waves in the water. Amazing!!! So now I actually had something to talk about I started to make notes, collect my photographs and make a power point presentation. I even found some video of dolphins singing, I felt very satisfied with my preparations.

On the day, I tried not to be nervous and felt confident because I believed my idea was very interesting. I had practiced the night before, so I knew I was ready. Thankfully, my classmates didn’t ask me any difficult questions because I hate surprises. However, they enjoyed everything I told them. I frequently kept checking the time because I didn’t want to take too long. I felt a sense of achievement and after the presentation they congratulated me. In fact, my teacher was so impressed that she wants to organise a school trip, so everyone can go and see these incredible creatures for themselves.
