A School Trip to the Forest
Pinecone School students are visiting a forest today. Before they walk in the forest, Mr Robin the park ranger
is giving information about the rules of visiting the forest: This is wild forest, it means there are wild animals here. They are not very dangerous, but you mustn’t leave the track. You mustn’t run around. You must always walk with the group. You mustn’t eat food in the forest. The animals, especially squirrels, might try to take your food. You mustn’t give food to the animals. Your food can make them sick. We will eat lunch when we finish our tour.
In the forest, you mustn’t drop litter. Please carry your litter in your bag and drop it into the garbage bins in the main camp. You can see some deer in the forest. They are very shy animals. You must be very quiet if you want to watch them. You mustn’t make a loud noise, or they run away. Don’t walk on the grass barefoot. You must always wear your shoes in the forest. There can be poisonous plants and insects. You mustn’t pick flowers and other plants. It’s not good for the ecosystem. You must tell your teacher if you feel sick or tired. Finally, you mustn’t eat any mushrooms or berries, they can be very poisonous.
