A Trip to Mexico

Hi, my name is Rachel. Last week I was at a wedding and on holiday in Mexico. My cousin Gretchen was getting married at a hotel in Cancun, Mexico. The wedding was on the beach. Everything was decorated so nicely, and the wedding looked like a dream. (1)
After the wedding, my family was on holiday! We were there for several days. The beaches were amazing. The sand was white, and the water was turquoise. There were lots of colourful fish. I went snorkelling, and my parents went scuba diving. I was interested in trying new water activities. (2)
We visited some ancient Mayan ruins in Chichen Itza. This was a huge city about one thousand years ago. The main step pyramid is the Temple of Kukulkan. It’s 55 metres high. The sides are very steep! Each face of the pyramid is 45 degrees. It was a long climb up! Here’s a picture. (3)
Another interesting place we visited was Mujeres. There were some really nice beaches there. I just loved the turtle farms that they have got! People visit and take photos of the turtles all year. That visit was my favourite part of our trip. (4)
