A TRIP TO THE TOY MUSEUM

Hi, I’m Marcus. I want to tell you about a school trip that we went on. Yesterday was a very exciting day for me and my classmates. We went to the Toy Museum with our teacher, Miss Bailey . We got in the school bus and the journey took an hour. When we got there, a lady told us where everything was and put us into groups. First of all, we went to a workshop. We played with toys and learnt how old they were and some more interesting facts. We then made dolls. We had a wooden peg and piece of fabric and we drew a face and hair. We then put the cloth round the peg and fixed it with an elastic band. We brought them back to school and we will take them home one day.

Then we had lunch in the cafeteria of the museum. The cafeteria walls were decorated with toys and puppets from other cultures. Later, we made a search for some toys in the museum. Our teacher gave us a piece of paper that had the names and descriptions of five different toys. My group and I found all the toys in thirty minutes and we won the race. Then, we went to the activity room. There were arts and crafts activities. We chose our favourite toy in the museum and draw a picture. We saw lots of old toys made of wood, even a yo-yo. Our favourite toys were the teddy bears and the giant robot. Today we wrote a thank you letter to the lady at the museum. It was a great experience. I want to go there again with my family, and show my sister all the toys. I’m sure she will love the dolls.
