When she was eleven years old, she moved to London with her family. While living in south London,
she became interested in R&B. Her favourite artists were Mary J. Blige and Destiny’s Child.
When Adele was fifteen, she went to her local record store,
and found the old albums of Etta James and Ella Fitzgerald.
These women were famous jazz and blues singers. At the same time,
Amy Winehouse’s blues style inspired Adele to play guitar.
On her first American tour (2008 – 2009) the tour bus driver always played American country and folk music.
This inspired Adele’s first major world hit ‘Rolling in the Deep’.
