Alien Landing
The night was dark, as the stars were sleeping, Then through the sky came an object creeping. A silvery plate that was round and bright, Shining down on the village its ghostly light.
Each house lit up slowly as over it passed While the people inside were snoring at last. Meanwhile in the woods the animals stirred As the strange flying thing glided and whirred. Then suddenly stopping, it hung in the air And a creature not dreamt of, climbed down foggy stairs. It stood still and silent, staring towards the lake Then ran down the last step and made its escape.
A ‘whoosh’ was heard as the stairs disappeared And the great flying saucer rose above the trees. Just for a while it paused in the night, Now gone in a flash; it swept out of sight.
