All About Snakes

Some people love snakes, but some people are afraid of snakes. Either way, snakes are very important animals. They are carnivores and their food includes mice and rabbits. There aren’t many mice in the streets because snakes eat them. Snakes have got long and thin bodies and they don’t have arms or legs. They need sun to keep themselves warm, so they live in hot places.

There are over 3,000 kinds of snakes in the world. An anaconda is a kind of snake, too. That is an animal you don’t want to meet because it is bigger than other snakes. It’s scary because it is longer than your school bus. Good news! Anacondas only live in the South American rainforest. They are always near the Amazon River. They don’t move fast on the ground, but they swim very fast. They have got different colours. They are green, yellow or dark-spotted. They don’t often eat food. They can stay without food for one month.
