AN ACCIDENTAL INVENTİON

id you know that many inventions began as accidents? Some of these accidents later became big business ideas. They gave us products that people all over the world use every day. In 1886 in the United States, a pharmacist named Dr. John Pemberton tried to invent a medicine . Before that he tried several other medicines but none of them cured any illness and they all failed. He mixed some ingredients together. No one knows exactly what he did. The mixture was a mystery, but it tasted delicious! Pemberton took the mixture to a pharmacy. The pharmacy sold the medicine as a drink for only five cents a glass. Pemberton and a partner started a company to make and sell the drink but the business didn’t make much money. In their first year, they only sold thirteen drinks a day. Then a smart businessman called Asa Candler bought the company. He started to give coupons for free Coca-Cola to people. He wanted people to try the drink, like it and buy it. He also put the logo everywhere so that people could remember the logo and buy the drink. Candler made the business very successful. The company grew and sold the drink around the world. What happened to the mysterious headache medicine? It’s now a product, which everyone in the world knows. It is one of the most famous brands in the world: Coca Cola. The name comes from two ingredients in the drink, the South American coca leaf and the African cola nut. Nobody knows the recipe for today’s Coca-Cola. Its ingredients are coca leaves and cola nut, lemon, orange, lime, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, caramel, and sugar. People also say that there are some secret ingredients that only two Coca-Cola workers know.
