An Interesting Hotel

Can you imagine how Albert Einstein lived? Do you ever wonder what clothes Marilyn Monroe or Madonna had in their wardrobes? Answers to all these questions and many more can be found at the Fame Hotel in California. The Fame Hotel asks and answers the question “What if?” Each room is named after a celebrity. Clint Eastwood is on the second floor, Elvis Presley is on the third floor, right next to Marilyn Monroe. Not all 32 rooms were named after Hollywood actors and singers only. There are also famous writers like Mark Twain and Agatha Christie and even some sports stars like Mike Tyson.

When you check into the hotel, you don’t only choose a room, but choose to experience a small part of the life of the celebrity that named the room. When you enter the room, you enter the life of that person. The owners of the hotel have filled the room with objects, clothes, photos, souvenirs, food and drinks that they think the stars would have liked. Unfortunately, they do not have anything that really belonged to these people, but they are hoping to have some soon. Marilyn Monroe’s room is full of beautiful white dresses, red lipsticks and blond wigs. Real Albert Einstein never wore socks, so there is not one single pair of socks in his room. There is a huge chalkboard with some numbers scribbled on it. If you choose Mike Tyson’s room, you’ll be able to practice boxing in one corner of the room. And there’s even a skipping rope too!

A guest staying in the Clint Eastwood room said she loved this hotel and had always wanted to know what Clint Eastwood loved to wear when he was not acting. She was happy to learn that he preferred black trousers and a simple white shirt. That guest ate pancakes and strawberry ice cream every morning, just as Clint Eastwood liked to do. On the next table, the Marilyn Monroe’s guest was eating tomato soup!

The company is planning to open another Fame Hotel in New York next month and there are plans to expand into Europe too. I’m looking forward to staying in the Oscar Wilde suite in Ireland!
