Animated films are ones in which individual drawings, paintings, or illustrations are photographed frame by frame. The earliest cinema animation was composed of frame-by-frame, hand-drawn images. Animation, fairy tales, and stop-motion films are often made for children, but they are also watched by adults.
Here are ten interesting facts about animations.
1. Shrek was the first Best Animated Feature which was awarded the Oscar. It was awarded in 2001.
2. However, an honorary Oscar award was given to Walt Disney in 1938 for his film named Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs.
3. The first cartoon character that was used on a postage stamp was Bugs Bunny.
4. In the film 101 Dalmatians, each Dalmatian puppy has exactly 32 spots on their bodies.
5. In the film Monsters, Inc. the big blue monster Sully’s each hair was seperately animated. Sully had 2,320,413 hairs.
6. Lunar Larry was the original name of Buzz Lightyear, the famous character in the Toy Story film.
7. There are only three animated films which are nominated for the Best Picture Oscar. They are; Beauty And The Beast, Up and Toy Story 3.
8. Production of Beauty and the Beast took more than three years and nearly 600 animators, artists, and technicians took part during the creation period.
9. The first animated feature that has ever been produced completely on computers is Toy Story.
10. It was Popeye’s statue which was first built.
