Aren’t firefighters cool?
Yesterday I was in my bedroom when I heard people screaming outside. I ran into the street and saw that my neighbours’ house was on fire. There were flames and smoke everywhere. I wanted to help them, but it was impossible and far too dangerous. My mum and dad told me to stand back. We were all very scared and didn’t have any other choice than to wait for the firefighters. Luckily Mr and Mrs Johnson were out, but their dog was in the house alone. In less than ten minutes, the firefighters arrived and saved the Johnsons’ dog. Wow! They are really brave. The dog barked for about an hour after they rescued him from the fire. I think he was still afraid. We looked after him until the Johnsons got back. They were shocked when they saw their house. Later that evening, I made a decision. I decided to be a firefighter when I grow up. I can be strong and brave like them. I can save people’s lives. I think my family will be proud of me.
