Art Festivals
1. Carifesta, the common name for the Caribbean Festival of Arts, is a multicultural event organized by the countries of the Caribbean. The festival aims to gather artists, musicians, and authors, and to exhibit the folk art of the Caribbean and Latin American region. Events such as drama, music, crafts, dance, literature etc. take place in the festival. It usually takes place in July and August.
2. Harbin International Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival is one of the most unique art festivals in the world. Officially, the festival starts on January 5 and lasts one month. This festival offers its visitors spectacular ice sculptures including world-record sized ones. All the sculptures are carved by some of the best ice sculptors in the world.
3. Vivid Sydney is for visitors who are looking for an art event that comes alive at night. It’s one of the largest celebrations of light, music, and ideas. In this annual light festival, visitors can see over 60 light installations. Part of the light festival includes performances from local and international musicians. There is also a forum where people exchange ideas through public talks and debates. The festival attracts over 400,000 visitors every year. Vivid Sydney takes place in the center of the city and lasts for 3 weeks in May and June.
4. Café Budapest Contemporary Arts Festival, formerly the Budapest Autumn Festival, it is an annual dance, jazz, theatre and poetry festival founded in Budapest in 1992. This festival celebrates the creative talent and achievements of contemporary art. It usually takes place in early October. During the festival, Budapest’s cultural life comes alive with artists and their works. The artworks range from classical and pop music to dance, film and fine arts to children’s programs.
