ART OR VANDALISM

Whether graffiti is art or vandalism has been an issue for authorities for a very long time. It is still a hot topic of art.

Graffiti is seen as the destruction of or the damage to public or private property, in most countries. The people who are caught in the act of drawing on the walls in the streets are charged with vandalism, forced to pay fine and they are usually expected to clean the drawings during community service hours.

Of course, the idea of having a drawing on your house’s wall done without your permission is disturbing. But, what if it was a breathtaking drawing done with your permission? Would you still be furious? Wouldn’t it be accepted as art, then? Or that amazing drawing was framed and exhibited in an art gallery or museum, wouldn’t you find it interesting?
