The showers were broken on the first night that I arrived, but they were repaired the next day. I wanted to stay in one of the lovely, old beach huts, but they were full, so in the end I stayed in a modern caravan. It wasn’t too bad, though. I’d describe the meals as fairly ordinary, but the service from the waiters and resort assistants is above average. However, the resort prices are too high.

We stayed for seven days. The only regret I have is that I couldn’t take a longer break from work! It would be impossible to find more welcoming staff anywhere. The showers and toilets were cleaned regularly. The restaurant fish suppers are almost as tasty as those which are served in the famous Whitby fish and chips shops – and that’s a big compliment!

I was promised a camping place where I could see the cliffs, but instead my tent faced the road. On the website, the beach is described as close. This isn’t true. I did a lot of walking to get to the seaside! There are no snack bars or ice cream kiosks at the resort. I spent most of my time in Whitby, which had some lovely cafes and souvenir shops. That’s my only pleasant memory!

We stayed in the pretty campsite area. Unfortunately we didn’t sleep well, though, because the seagulls were very loud! Next time I’ll try one of the beach huts, where guests can see the sea from their windows. Apparently, more huts will be built next year, which is good news. The prices of the resort aren’t really affordable, but you do get good value for money. Apart from the gulls, I’d describe it as almost perfect!
