Being a Vegetarian

Being a Vegetarian

Being a vegetarian means eating no animal products such as beef, chicken or fish. Some vegetarians don’t even eat eggs or dairy (milk) products. People choose to be vegetarian for two main reasons. The first reason is to protect animals and the environment. The second reason is that it’s healthy. If you follow a well-planned vegetarian diet, you will still get all the necessary vitamins and minerals. There is enough protein in vegetables for your body and they don’t have any harm. However, meat includes too much fat which can cause heart diseases and cancer. If you eat dried beans and nuts, you won’t have to eat meat because there is enough protein in them. Also, you can get the same amount of calcium in a glass of milk in an orange or broccoli. As you see, fruits and vegetables are more than enough for human beings. If your diet is rich in fruits and vegetables, you will feel healthier and more energetic.
