Belgrade
Belgrade is the capital of Serbia and it is a very big and modern city in Europe. 1.7 millions of people live there. Every year millions of tourists visit Belgrade. For Belgrade, people say it is a city that never sleeps because there are many different things you can do in Belgrade.
There are two big rivers in Belgrade: Danube and Sava. You can take a boat trip around the river and see the whole city from there. Belgrade’s famous picnic area is Ada Ciganlija. It’s a river island with a beach on it. You can swim and cool down in the summertime. There are many trees around the picnic area. The best time to visit Belgrade is summertime because in winter it is very cold and snowy. In the summertime, it is very hot.
If you want to walk and see the beauty of nature you must visit Kalemegdan and see the Belgrade Fortress. Then walk down to Knez Mihajlova Street. There are many cafes, restaurants and shops on the way. You can have lunch/dinner or just have your coffee and relax. Palacinka is their special dessert and Cevabi is their famous meatball.
Another important place to see is Saint Sava Church. It is at the end of Knez Mihajlova Street. It is very big and historical. Lastly, if you like visiting museums, Nicola Tesla Museum is a very important museum to see. Nicola Tesla is a great hero, physicist and electrical engineer.
One time is never enough for Belgrade. Be ready for great fun and learning new things.
