Big Changes in Those Days!
Jennifer is talking to Tom.
‘When I was 7 years old Dad bought a cassette player with headphones. My sister and I were so happy we invited our cousins. The cassette player could record our voices. We sat in front of the cassette player, spoke and shouted. Then we listened to our voices and laughed. That became our free-time fun for the next three months. Then we started to sing and record plays on cassettes. That was when I started to like singing.
‘In the 1980s VCRs became very popular, and everybody had one in their home. We got our first VCR in 1987, when I was 8. It was a different experience. Before that we went home to watch our favourite TV programmes. But after VCRs came somebody at home recorded the TV programme, and we watched it later. To everybody, this was a big change!’
