Birthday at the Zoo

My name is Joe. Last Saturday was my birthday. My parents took me and my sister to the zoo. We saw lots of animals there. We saw different kinds of sheep, goats and horses, too. I wanted to give some food to the animals, but it was forbidden. My sister took some photos of the animals. Later, we had lunch at the zoo café. I ate cheese and tomato sandwiches.

My sister had sausages and fries. My dad joined us later at the café. He took us downstairs. “Close your eyes,” he said to me. When I opened my eyes, I saw my cousins there. Then everybody sang the Happy Birthday song. What an exciting day!
