BRITISH CULTURE V.S. GERMAN CULTURE
Many different researchers have studied the cultural differences between the British and the German. These two countries are both in Europe and they have great historical backgrounds . They seem so close to each other on the map. However, there are many differences between these two cultures. Here are some of them: - German people speak to you in a direct way. British people are more polite and it takes a long time for them to understand the detail in a conversation . - Germans are perfectionists and want to get things right with everything they are responsible for. - A study on sleep patterns shows that British people sleep an average of eight minutes longer than Germans and spend an extra five minutes in bed. This could be a reason why German people are always faster at setting down their towels next to the pool when they’re on holiday! - British people drink more tea than Germans. Germans prefer drinking coffee for breakfast and during the day. - Britain has the highest rate of obesity in Europe. - Students in Britain wear a school uniform but students in Germany wear casual clothes to go to school. German students seem more comfortable in their clothes. - Schools start earlier in the morning in Germany, so British students have a chance to sleep more in the mornings.
