While explaining the working system of a TV, it is best to start talking about pixels. When you watch something on TV, you see thousands of pictures taken one after the other. On TV, these pictures are shown in the order that they were taken and they seem like they are moving. Each of those pictures include tiny colored dots and these are called pixels. Light is another important element of a TV. When you watch something on TV, light reflects off the people and objects and the light comes on a small screen inside the camera and this camera sees pixels too. There is a device in this camera that breaks up each picture into small parts by changing them into electronic signals and these signals provide instructions for the TV that tells it how to put all the parts back together again.

When you turn on your TV, the message that you send tells the TV how to put all the pictures together. The TV also puts the sound together and everything happens so quickly that the TV shows 24 pictures every second.
