Street art is very popular all over the world. Artists paint pictures on the walls and building with sprays mostly. Here are some of these fabulous celebrations you can find around the world.

Upfest – Bristol, UK

Artists from all over the world come to this street art festival in Bristol. It is in July. They paint at the festival’s home in Bedminster. They use the streets, walls, boards, double-decker buses, vans, cars and even a New York subway train as their canvas. More than 300 artists bring their brushes here each year.

Artists paint in front of thousands of people. The festival takes place during the weekend. It also includes workshops, musical performances and other types of live entertainment.

POW! WOW! – Hawaii, USA

The name ‘POW! WOW!’ comes from the colour-filled pages of comic books – ‘POW!’ and ‘WOW!’ represents the reaction of the viewers. The Native American pow wow is a festival that celebrates culture, music, art and community. It takes place over a week in February in the Kaka’ako district of Honolulu. There are more than a hundred international and local artists to draw pictures every year.

HKwalls – Hong Kong, China

The HKwalls festival adds a street art element to Hong Kong Arts Month. It takes place every year in March. HKwalls invites local and international artists and they make large paintings on the streets of the city.

Each year, HKwalls organization selects one area of Hong Kong to work on. Artists paint as many exterior walls, gates and windows as possible in this area. During the festival, HKwalls also hosts some events and activities. People don’t paint only. They also visit exhibitions and attend public workshops.
