Circus Camp

Circus Camp

I met my friends before class today. We talked about our weekend. I asked Jamal, ‘How was your weekend? What did you do?’

‘I went to the Science Museum. The new, animated dinosaur exhibit started last month. It was pretty cool,’ he answered.

‘Oh cool,’ I said, ‘That sounds like fun! What did you do, Tia?’

Tia answered, ‘I went to a circus camp.’

‘Really? What is a circus camp?’ Jamal asked. ‘It’s very similar to gymnastics. I really enjoy doing gymnastics, so my mum signed me up for this circus camp last month. I get to learn basic acrobatics and simple tricks on the trampoline.’

‘Is it difficult?’ I asked.

‘Yes, it is. It takes a long time to learn a trick well. The trainers are very careful. Some of the older kids can do tricks on the high wire. Young children aren’t allowed up there. I want to try it one day!’

‘What else can you do there?’ Jamal asked.

‘You can learn how to be a clown. Older students get fire-eating lessons, too.’ ‘Now I want to try that!’ Jamal exclaimed
