CLASSMATES

Many students in my classroom have very interesting hobbies. I sit next to Erin. She is a professional gymnast.
She spends most of her free time exercising in the gym. She is very good at it. She loves doing gymnastics.
She says she doesn’t like studying other subjects at school. My friend George likes playing the guitar.
He likes singing, too. He and his two close friends have a music band called The Accords.
Sometimes they play for us in the classroom. They’re so cool. I like their music. Rob is always very quiet.
He only loves to talk about the Internet, online games and video games.
He doesn’t like to chat with us during lunchtime.
He loves chatting online and meeting new people around the world.
He says he wants to learn how to design online games. Personally, I don’t like the Internet or chatting online.
Sophie loves reading everything. She is truly a bookworm!
You can always see her carrying new books from the library.
She also likes writing her own detective stories. She shared some of them with me and I think she’s got the talent.
Her stories are very interesting. I’m Zelda. How about me? I guess I want to learn how to play an instrument.
I really like the sound of the violin but my favourite is definitely the piano. I really love listening to the piano.
One day I want to buy my own piano. I hate doing sports. I don’t like playing team games, either.
I like travelling a lot. I want to go travelling to Papua New Guinea.
There are about 190 species of mammals in Papua New Guinea. There are also a large number of species of reptiles, birds and fish and most of them live only in Papua New Guinea.
I love watching documentaries and learning about animals and wildlife.
Maybe someday I’ll be a zoologist and travel around the world. Zelda the Zoologist! Yes!
