Community Workers

There are people who work for our community, and we see them every day. They work to make our lives better.

One example is your teachers. They teach us different school subjects and also how to be a good person. Teachers work at schools and other educational institutions. Think about our security. That’s what police officers are there for. They are there to keep us safe. Police officers work at police stations and wear uniforms.

Who looks after sick people? Doctors and nurses check our health when we need medical help. They work at hospitals and wear uniforms as well. Who takes care of our lovely pets? Vets are there for us when our pets get sick. Their uniforms look like doctors’. Who cooks for us in our school or in restaurants? Chefs make delicious meal for us to eat. They wear white uniforms and a hat when they cook.

There are many others that work for our community – for example, firefighters, dentists and dustmen. Next time you see them, remember how important they are for our community.
