Comparing Sports

Alana: What’s your favourite water sport, Joe?
Joe: I don’t have a favourite water sport. I like winter sports.
Alana: Oh yeah? Like what?
Joe: I like skiing and skating. They’re so much fun.
Alana: I like water sports because I think they’re easier and safer.
Joe: Well, I’m not sure. I’m afraid of being in the water because I think swimming and other water sports are dangerous. Which water sports are your favourite?
Alana: I love waterskiing. I think it’s very exciting. I also like sailing. It’s more exciting, but it’s more expensive too. I haven’t got the money.
Joe: Waterskiing sounds interesting. Do you get hurt when you fall?
Alana: Yes, it’s a little dangerous, but I don’t think it’s more dangerous than skiing in the mountains.
Joe: If you like safe sports, I think skating is the right winter sport for you.
Alana: Yeah, it looks safe and fun at the same time. Let’s try it. You teach me skating and I can teach you waterskiing!
