CRIME RATES AROUND THE WORLD
Sweden, which is a country in Northern Europe, is listed as one of the safest countries in the world with the lowest crime rate. Only 90 murders were recorded in 2015 in this Scandinavian country, which has a population of 10.1 million.
Austria, which is a German-speaking country in Central Europe, is also famous for being safe. Its homicide rate is the 6th lowest in the 38-country OECD. The number of murders reported in a year is only 40.
Switzerland is another country with a very low crime rate. It is reported that there were only 41 murders in this breathtaking country, which is low considering the population is roughly 8 million people.
Germany, which is a country with about 15 million people, is the European country with the highest population. It has the 9th lowest homicide rate in the OECD.
Guatemala is accepted as one of the most dangerous countries in the world. Apart from drug smuggling, carjacking, armed robbery, and theft, the country also had the 5th highest homicide rate in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Honduras is also known for its high murder rates. Due to the lack of police and military forces, the country suffers from various crimes, especially drug trafficking.
Armed robbery, murder, kidnapping, and carjacking are the crimes which are most common in Venezuela.
