DAVID ATTENBOROUGH
David Attenborough is an English writer and naturalist who made and presented educational television programmes about nature. He was born in May 8, 1926 in London, England. He grew up in Leicester, where his father was the principal of the local university. David’s brother, Richard, later became a successful actor.
When David started to develop an interest in nature, he was still a teenager. He went to Cambridge University. A few years later, he started working for a publishing house. In 1952, he completed an internship programme at BBC (the British Broadcasting Corporation) and became a television producer there. Every one of his shows became a hit.
In 1965, David became the manager of the BBC’s second television channel, BBC-2. Between the years 1968 and 1972, he worked as the director of television programming of the BBC. In 1972, he resigned from the BBC to write and produce independent television series.
He made several award-winning television programs on anthropology and natural history over the years leading up to 2010s. In his television shows in the last two decades, he dealt heavily with environmental issues like global warming.
