Dear Jack
Dear Jack,
I am writing this letter from a small village in Santarem. This village is in the middle of a large, beautiful forest. It is in the north of Brazil. It is a very quiet and happy place. In the photo, I am with my friends. I’m staying here with my father. He is a photographer; he takes photos of the rainforests. We usually come here in spring. I love the village and the forest around it. I always play with my friends in the forest. We climb the trees and we watch animals. I sometimes go to the forest with my father; we take some photos of the colourful butterflies and the tall trees. We listen to the tigers in the forest at night. I can eat different kinds of fruit here: coconut, raspberry and avocado. My favourite fruit is pineapple. My father works with his friends and they want to save the rainforests. People cut down trees to build houses and make paper, but they forget that they are very important. They produce oxygen and they make the air clean. They are homes for many animals and plants. Trees also stop wind and noise. We should do everything to protect them. Now, my dad is cooking, so I am helping him.
Love, Peter
