Dear Jill,

Hello! How are you? I’m in Paris and it’s wonderful. I have been here for a week now. I arrived last Saturday and I’m going to stay for another week. I’m with my cousin, Max, and we are staying at the Hotel du Nord, opposite Paris Nord station.

So, what have we done so far? Well, we have already been to the Louvre museum and we have seen the ‘Mona Lisa’. The queues were terrible and it is much smaller than I thought. I don’t know why it is so famous! We haven’t climbed the Eiffel Tower yet. We are going to do that tomorrow. Max is going to climb to the top, but I’m going to stop at the half-way point. It looks very high!

We haven’t gone out in the evenings yet. We are always too tired, but tonight we are going to take an evening cruise along the Seine and then tomorrow we are going to listen to the jazz musicians in the Latin Quarter. Oh, and of course I’ve already done lots of shopping. I’ve bought lots of stylish clothes and some paintings from the street artists. Yes, I’ve bought a present for you, too! But you will have to wait to see what it is. I must finish now. This afternoon we are going to meet some friends of Max’s and I think they will show us around. Hopefully, they’ll take us to the Champs Elysees. Take care, and see you soon.
