Did You Steal Paul Bicycle ?

Paul left his bicycle in his garden last night. When he came outside this morning, it was gone! He told the police and they spoke to some people. 

Simon (Paul's next-door neighbour) 

No! I didn't steal Paul's bicycle! Yesterday I went to school. I studied really hard because I have an exam this week. After school I went home and did my homework. I stayed at home all evening with my mum and dad. I didn't go out.

Jennifer (Paul's sister) 

No! I didn't steal Paul's bicycle! After school I played football in the park. Then I went home. At home I ate my dinner and then I did the washing up. I didn't do my homework though. 

Gerald (the postman) 

I didn't steal the bike. I saw it early this morning. I walked past because I gave Jennifer some letters. The bike was in Paul's garden then.

Joe (Paul's brother) 

I didn't steal it! I borrowed it! I woke up late for school. I didn't ask Paul because he was sleeping. I took it so I wasn't late for school. I put it back in the garden ten minutes ago! Sorry everyone ...
