DIFFERENT ROBOTS

A robot is a machine. It works with a computer programe. The technology of robot design is called robotics. In many schools, there are robotics clubs. Students make robots in these clubs. They attend tournaments with their robots.

People use robots in different fields. They can act like humans when there is a dangerous thing to do. If something is too dangerous for a human, a robot can do it. They go to outer space or the bottom of the sea. For example, some robots work in industry and make cars. Other robots do the housework. Some robots answer when you speak. Doctors can even use robots to help with surgeries.

There are some exciting new robots. Marge is a 'reading robot'. It is very intelligent. Its intelligence comes from software. She can read newspapers, find and correct mistakes and find the best restaurant in a town. Baxter is a new robot. It is different from other robots because it can learn. A worker can teach Baxter how to do something by moving its hands. Baxter doesn’t need computer programming in order to work. He doesn’t need software engineers. This also means Baxter can learn to perform many different activities.
