Do Career Plans Really Work

You may hear this at school that you always need to have a career plan in order to be successful. Every year, schools pay millions of dollars to counsellors to give students information about the careers they can or should choose in the future. However, are a few hours of counselling and some information enough for students to choose the best career when the time comes? 

 

In my opinion, young people need more than just some information to make smart choices. If you look at the most successful people in the world, you realise that they didn’t get help from a lot of people. Instead, they tried to figure out their way themselves. They also worked very hard and always learnt from their mistakes. 

 

I want to become a fashion designer, and I love this field of activity – I mean fashion. However, since there are a lot of people in this field, in order to become successful, you have to stand out. In other words, you need to be among the top people in the world of fashion. For that to happen, you also need some natural talent and passion that can help you achieve your goals before anyone else.
