Donald Duck first appeared in the cartoon The Wise Little Hen in 1934. The film’s release date of June 9th is recognized as Donald’s birthday. Donald is a funny animal cartoon character and was created at Walt Disney Productions. He has a yellow-orange bill, legs, and feet. He usually wears a blue sailor suitm with a cap and a red bow tie.
Donald Duck is one of the most popular Disney characters in the world and he has appeared in more films than any other Disney character. His voice was created by Clarence Nash and was played by him for 50 years. Donald was most famously drawn by Al Taliaferro, Carl Barks, and Don Rosa.
In 1937, Donald was given his own film series starting with Don Donald. Daisy Duck was introduced as Donald’s girlfriend and also his three nephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie were introduced in the later years. Donald is known for having a bad temper but also having a positive outlook on life. Some of his most memorable phrases are, “What’s the big deal?,” “Aw, phooey!,” and “Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy.”
