Just about two decades ago, when you asked young people what they wanted to be in the future, they would probably say that they wanted to be a doctor, an engineer, a lawyer or maybe a pop star. In just twenty years with the developments in technology many things have changed. Popular jobs nowadays are different than the ones in the past too. Drones are also called UAVs. That stands for unmanned aerial vehicles. They were first designed to be used for military purposes. In time people realised that they can easily be used for other purposes too. Since then people have used drones for scientific, agricultural and commercial purposes. For the last few years they are even used as toys or to take photos. More and more companies are using drones these days. One of them is Amazon. They started testing drone delivery. It is called Prime Air. They have Prime Air development centres in the United States, the United Kingdom, Austria, France and Israel. Their aim is to deliver packages faster and use less manpower. Companies usually prefer people who studied engineering, aviation or similar but it is not a must. If you are very good at controlling a device or good at computer games that is an advantage for you in getting a job as a drone operator.

Drone operators work in different fields. Some check farming areas. They make sure that crops grow healthily. Some cruise over fields and check for soil erosion or any changes in the landscapes. Some drone operators work in medical field. They have a very crucial job. They transfer medicine, medical equipment and sometimes even blood samples. The main goal here is to deliver anything that has a vital importance.
