Eat more fruit and veggies!
Fruit and vegetables taste great and are full of vitamins and minerals. To stay fit and healthy, you need to eat a balanced diet. That means eating fruit and vegetables every day. Different coloured fruits and vegetables have different health benefits so try and have as many different colours as you can!
There are lots of interesting and delicious ways to eat more fruit and vegetables. Here are some ideas:
- Put sliced banana or strawberries on your cereal.
- Add chopped fruit to your yoghurt.
- Pack vegetable sticks in your bag for your lunch.
- Try vegetable kebabs for your dinner.
Eating fresh fruit is much better for you than a glass of fruit juice. Some fruit juices can have lots of sugar and not much fibre. Fresh fruit is the best but dried and frozen fruit and vegetables are also good for you.
Dried fruit like apricots and apples are high in vitamins and fibre. They are also high in sugar so be careful! Dried fruit can be bad for your teeth because they stick to them. It’s best to have a glass of water after you eat dried fruit.
