EBOLA VIRUS
Ebola is a very dangerous virus that can cause people to get sick and even die. It causes the body’s immune system to go into overdrive which can lead to bleeding, organ failure, and death.
Doctors think that people get the virus from contact with infected animals such as monkeys, chimpanzees, fruit bats and gorillas. Ebola doesn’t spread through food or water. It also doesn’t travel through the air like cold or flu viruses do. Ebola often starts with fever, headache, muscle aches and exhaustion. As the disease gets worse, bleeding and breathing problems. It is very important that people who have Ebola get treatment as soon as possible. They have to be treated in a special way so that the disease doesn’t spread to other people. Doctors, nurses and other people who take care of the infected people have to wear protective equipment like gloves and masks.
Unfortunately, there is no vaccine to prevent Ebola. But doctors are still working on it and once they find the right vaccine, Ebola might stop being a threat. The best way to protect yourself against the disease is to stay away from the places where there are outbreaks. If you are in places where there is Ebola like West Africa, you should avoid touching or eating wild animals. You should wash your hands very often and avoid contact with people who are infected. Treating people who have Ebola quickly and giving them the right health care is the best way to stop the spread of the disease.
